George and Sarah Tatham - Sheep and Beef Farmers

George and Sarah Tatham have a 1458 hectare farm on the Wairarapa coast near Riversdale.

“We barely had dial-up” Sarah says jokingly “we could be doing the banking and the speed would slow down to nothing and we’d have to start again.”

George adds: “About five years ago we decided to get WIZwireless, even though it was a big decision to set it up we have never regretted it. We are rapt with the performance and the time savings are huge.”

“I use email a lot. I do it in the early morning or in the evening”.

George can safely and quickly use the internet to communicate and work with his bank, accountant and farming consultant. George is also heavily involved in two different Wairarapa farming groups and there are numerous papers, reports and other documents that need to be transferred.

Sarah also uses the internet to keep in touch with family and friends and “it’s great for when you can’t get to the shops!”

“The fast internet has been huge for our staff too and it is a real advantage when we are hiring. We have two other families on the farm as well as two young shepherds in the cottage over there. It is as much for the staff as it is for us.”

“It is just such a good, local service. Scott has been fantastic, having that personal relationship has been great.”

John’s enthusiasm is palpable: “One night recently I was viewing the Tarantula nebula, it was a really clear night, the image and the internet speed was so good that people thought it looked 3-D. It was incredible. Man, it was magic!”
